I came across this video a few days ago and have been watching/listening to it since.
Even though I never heard this song before coming across it on the web, it feels as if I have been listening to it for years. It is, without a doubt, one heck of a tune (the band Blind Melon also did a cover of the song). After doing some research I discovered John Sinclair was jailed ten years for two joints of weed. Ann Arbor held a "Free John Sinclair Now" rally bringing some of the nations most respected artists, singers, and writers together in Ann Arbor, Michigan including John Lennon, Allen Ginsberg, and Bob Seger to name a few. Another interesting fact is U of M's annual Hash Bash was inspired by the rally.
Check out Sinclair's Wikipedia for some more information or his website. The dude is pretty fascinating, not to mention he did a lot of work with The Fifth Estate known for an anti-authoritarian approach to journalism. Here is a short documentary about what John Sinclair and the infamous jail sentence.

Trenton Makes
The title of this blog, The World Takes is inspired by the Lower Trenton Bridge in Trenton, New Jersey. It was after seeing this bridge in the film, Rocket Science that led me to start saving links and pictures of anything I thought was cool or interesting. Over time I had a small database of this stuff built up, prompting me to create a blog. Hence, we have The World Takes. The stuff I plan on posting, whether it be essays, pictures, links, or videos have all inspired me and hopefully will have the same affect on you. Plus, I will include anecdotes that arise throughout my day. For example, the man who lives across the street is currently washing his car in a black speedo. Additionally, the man looks to be about 50 and slightly overweight. So think of this blog as a virtual representation of my life, thoughts, and whatever else goes on in my head.
Welcome to The World Takes.
